Scholarship for college sophomores and juniors attending an accredited two or four year college or university full-time, enrolled in a Mathematics, Science, or Engineering program . Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA; be in the top 25% of their class; and be a U.S. citizen, a resident alien, or, U.S. national. Resident aliens must include a letter of intent to obtain U.S. citizenship. The only method of application is through nomination by the Goldwater Scholarship Faculty Representative of the college. Selection is based on student's field of study, career objectives, and the commitment and potential to make a significant contribution to student's chosen field of study. Submit biographical information, educational background, future academic plans, career goals, a 600 word essay, three letters of evaluation from faculty members, and all transcripts with nomination form.
