Annual award for medical students who hold a M.D. degree from a U.S. medical school or the equivalent of an M.D. degree from an educational institution equivalent to a United States medical school, and who are judged worthy of support by virtue of the quality of their research proposals. Candidate must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and have at least one year of post-doctoral clinical training. Application must be accompanied by assurance from the sponsoring institution that they have facilities adequate for conducting the proposed research program in a basic science or clinical department. All scientific research relevant to human health is eligible for consideration; research that has relevance to cures for human disease is encouraged.
