Scholarship for residents of the Santa Clara Valley, California area who are undergraduate students (freshmen ineligible) enrolled in a four-year college/university and whose course of study includes a class in Portuguese. Student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, be under the age of 21, demonstrate high moral character, good citizenship, and dedication to American ideals. Award is based on promise of success in college, financial need, leadership qualities, vocational promise, and sincerity of purpose. Number of awards vary. Nonrenewable; but recipients may reapply annually.
