Annual award for an undergraduate student who is an education major or enrolled in coursework that qualifies for certification in Illinois. Student's parent/guardian must be an IEA-NEA member (deceased, divorced or IEA-retired members also qualify). Applicants must agree to teach in an Illinois public school one year for each year of assistance. Students must have a minimum 2.0 GPA. Selection is based on economic need, academic achievement/GPA, class rank, extra-curricular activities and essay. Renewable; must reapply. Award amount varies.
