Scholarship for college freshmen enrolled at a postsecondary institution. Students must intend to make music a central part of their future life. Any of the usual instruments of band or orchestra are eligible (i.e. strings, woodwinds, brass, piano, percussion), except those whose sound is electronically produced or amplified. An audition is required. Students must submit a CD or tape of competition pieces and a personal statement with application packet. Nonrenewable.
