Annual award limited to members of the National Black Nurses' Association (NBNA.) Candidates must be currently enrolled in a nursing program (B.S.N., A.D., Diploma or L.P.N./L.V.N.) and in good academic standing. Membership in a local chapter is required, if one exists in the area. A Chapter submits NBNA scholarship application, which has been completed by the candidate the Chapter recommends. If no local Chapter exists in the area, candidate may submit an application directly to NBNA. Candidate must include completed application, two specific letters of recommendation, a 5-page essay with academic transcript. Extracurricular activities such as involvement in student nurse activities and/or in the African American Community are also considered in the selection. Contact local Chapter or NBNA.
