Annual fellowships for full-time graduate students attending a minority serving institution who are interested in research relating to health and the environment. Applicants must be pursuing studies in Atmospheric Science, Biochemistry, Biology, Biophysics, Bioremediation, Biostatistics, Chemistry, Ecology, Genetics, Genomics, Marine Science, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Measurement Science, Molecular Nuclear Medicine, Nuclear Medicine, Pathology, Physics, Physiology, Radiation Biology, Structural Biology, Terrestrial Sciences, Toxicology, and other related science disciplines. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required. Fellowship applicable at the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Biological and Environmental Research participating laboratories. Duration of program is 10 weeks during the summer; some semester appointments. Due date is third Thursday in January. Award package consists of a $650 weekly stipend for graduate students; limited travel reimbursement (round-trip expenses between host facility and campus) Number of awards varies.
