Scholarship for California residents who hold a BA degree or higher and have the desire to pursue intermediate to advanced study abroad courses in the Portuguese language/culture. Applicant must be: 1) a teacher of Portuguese in grades K-12 in California; 2) been admitted to a teaching credential program or advanced degree program at a California college/university that has Portuguese as an intregal part of the program. Award based on financial need and vocational promise. Award based on financial need and basic knowledge of the Portuguese language. Due date and number of awards may vary. Award amount includes round-trip transportation and tuition. Nonrenewable.
