Description The Andrew W. Mellon Fellowship in Humanistic Studies is awarded to exceptionally promising doctoral students to help prepare them for careers in humanistic disciplines. Fellows may take their award to any accredited graduate program in the United States or Canada. To be eligible for this award, you must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident. If you have received a Master's (M.A.) degree in your chosen field, or are working towards one, you are eligible for the award only if the M.A. program was terminal (no Ph.D. offered). The fellowship covers graduate tuition and required fees for your first academic year of a Ph.D. program and includes a stipend of $17,500. Additional Information Foundation staff will pre-screen each interested applicant before an application will be released. You must request an application by November 12 for the competition. Completed applications and all supplemental materials must be received by December 1.
