from high school in Palo Alto, California,
who intend to complete a four-year degree
in the sciences. Special consideration will
be given to girls who have demonstrated a
�pioneering� spirit in that they have not
been constrained by stereotypical female
roles and to those facing financial hard-ship.
Award was established in the honor of
Dr. Mary Finegold who, after completing
her medical studies, elected to stay at
home until her youngest child was in high
school before beginning her medical prac-tice.
She was a school physician.
